Dr. LARRY WALKEMEYER

Dr. Larry Walkemeyer is a proven catalyst in a variety of ministry areas. His passions include identifying, recruiting, and catalyzing leaders; initiating and resourcing new church plants; helping professionals become "kingdom minded", motivating people to follow God's dream for their lives and making a difference for God and for good wherever he goes.

Larry's ministry career began when at age 16 he created, produced and hosted a contemporary Christian music radio program entitled, "Sounds of Love". At age 20 Larry began full time ministry working with teens and preaching at ministry events. Ten years later Larry started a non-profit ministry organization, Teen Leaders for Christ that hosted leadership development camps for teens and produced youth radio ministry.

Returning to California for further education, Larry took a two year position as an Associate Pastor in an evangelical church.

In 1991 Larry became Sr. Pastor of a small all Anglo church in Long Beach, California. Light & Life Christian Fellowship grew in size and diversity. Today it is a large, thriving, multi-ethnic congregation that focuses on helping new churches start. Light & Life Church has helped start several new churches and sent out other pastors into ministry.

Also Larry has traveled extensively in the U.S. and internationally, speaking to pastors and leaders. Larry has focused attention on Ethiopia, Philippines, Thailand, and Mexico, where he has helped start churches, schools, medical clinics, and compassion projects.

Larry also speaks on the subject of successful living for business professionals.

Along the way he has received a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry from Azusa Pacific University. He was honored as one of the top 100 graduates from Azusa Pacific over its 100 year history.

Larry (along with Dr. Kevin Mannoia) has released his first book nationwide entitled, "15 Characteristics of Effective Pastors".


DEB WALKEMEYER

Deb Walkemeyer operates in the gifts of wisdom, discernment, and administration.

Since high school Deb has been in passionate ministry for Christ. Beginning with leading her Youth for Christ Club on her high school campus, Deb then became an adult leader with Youth for Christ helping oversee high school ministries. Her leadership roles on the campus of Azusa Pacific included leading in choir, in dorm oversight, and in her ambassador role for the school as the reigning homecoming queen.

After marrying Larry, Deb taught at a Christian high school in Seattle and helped lead a youth group of 300 students. She was also co-founder of the non-profit ministry, "Teen Leaders for Christ".

With Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Theology degrees, Deb returned to California and pursued a Masters of Marriage, Family, Therapy from Fuller Seminary. Deb went on to receive her licensure from the State of California as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Upon graduation Deb successfully practiced therapy for nine years.

In 1999 Deb became an Associate Pastor at Light & Life Christian Fellowship with Larry. Her roles included overseeing Support and Recovery ministries, Women's Ministries, and Small Groups.

Deb has effectively counseled many pastors and their spouses in areas of family and ministry health. She has also been the featured speaker at a variety of events including parenting seminars, marriage retreats, women's retreats, and leadership events.

Deb is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Church Leadership from Fuller Seminary. Deb is the co-founder of Life In Motion Enterprises.


LINDSEY WALKEMEYER

Lindsey Walkemeyer was born in 1984 and recently graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Youth Ministries. Lindsey has a passion for missions and has been on over 20 mission trips. As one of the top student leaders on her college campus Lindsey was a speaker at chapel, homecoming queen, Alpha Counselor (mentoring other leaders), and Student Director for Mexico Missions Outreach.

Lindsey Walkemeyer is now pursuing a Masters in Cross Cultural Ministries at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. Lindsey works with inner city youth, Surfing the Nations, and speaks at youth events.
