Imagine being Juan Gomez, a seven year old who lives in a one bedroom apartment with 6 siblings, an alcoholic father and an abused mother. Juan often goes to bed hungry. In bed Juan listens to gun shots being fired in his neighborhood. He's already seen a person murdered. Juan wears the same clothes to school almost everyday and often misses school because of problems at home. There are few bright spots in Juan's miserable situation.

But once a week a brightly colored panel van with "Inner Change Kidz" painted on the side rolls into Juan's neighborhood and Juan comes running with anticipation on his face. For the next two hours, Juan's life is different. The van let's down one side that turns into a stage and the upbeat music feels the neighborhood. Juan enjoys games, character lessons, prayer, prizes and lots of HUGS. Juan is special for two hours a week. After receiving a box of food, Juan returns home with a smile on his face.
